Background Information
The West Virginia University Mountaineers have gone undefeated during
the 2015 football season and will be playing for the National
Championship on Monday, January 11, 2016 in Glendale, Arizona. They
will be playing the LSU Tigers.
WVU wants to promote this accomplishment by hosting a team send-off
celebration/rally at the WVU Coliseum prior to the team departing
Morgantown on Saturday, January 2. Special guests will include WVUs
president, the football team, coaching staff, the WVU marching band
and multiple special celebrity guests.The event is free and open to
the public. It will begin at 1:00 PM and run until approximately 3:00
P.M.
Your press release should speak to a number of publics, including
fans, students, faculty, staff, and the general public. You may make
up any facts about the seasons statistics and the event details.

Write a general press release announcing the football teams advance to
the National Championship and the send-off rally. Your press release
should be no longer than one page. See the assignment guidelines for
format specifications.
For the purpose of this assignment, you have permission to create
quotes from staff members and special guests. Please use correct AP
(Associated Press) style. As WVUs public relations specialist, you can
decide when and where to host the dinner, and it’s up to you to come
up with creative incentives you will use to get the public to attend
